Meghan Lever, MSW, LCSWA
BASICS Facilitator
Meghan has her Masters degree in Social Work with a focus on direct practice and substance use services, and a long history of working with adolescents and young adults in academic and treatment setting
Meghan is passionate about values-based goal setting, identity development, and experiential/recreational therapeutics (she works on a high ropes course and is training in Equine Assisted Psychotherapy). She utilizes an approach that combines harm reduction, motivational interviewing, and ecological systems theory to center student goals and honor self determination. She is open to meeting with students anywhere along the substance use spectrum, those who may have questions about their own use or who are impacted by the substance use of others. Meghan strives to be approachable and flexible in her sessions and is committed to the time and content being meaningful and relevant to the students she meets with.
When she isn’t working you can find her outside with her family, gardening, traveling, and cooking (often while listening to an audio book). Growing up in the Pacific Northwest, nature has always been an important aspect of Meghan’s wellness and she is open to offering nature based sessions or walk-and-talk opportunities for those seeking continued support after their initial BASICS session (just ask!).
